Late Escape

The Sun Room

As I write this, it is a bone-chilling 23 degrees Fahrenheit in the great city of Austin, TX!

I couldn’t pick a better album to listen to and feature than The Sun Room by my friend, the talented Late Escape!

The six-track EP, while short, takes you on a journey with the common theme being that this can be listened to on a warm sunny day, or in my case, a very cold night.

“Blue Chair” is the perfect song to listen to on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The sound of chatter at the 0:54 mark is incredible.

“Better with Guac” has elements of vaporwave which I love.

“Porch Step” is a great track to listen to while chilling on a rainy day. The sounds of rainfall and crickets punctuate the sense of being one with nature.

“Moonlit Breeze” can only be described as smooth! I feel like I’m underwater when I hear this song, with the outside world shut away, if only temporarily.

“30 Years of Shade” starts and ends with the sound of rainfall. I especially like the sounds of scraping that occurs every 20 seconds throughout the track. It really adds a sense of tension to the laid back vibe.

“Mellow Miracle” is the shortest track and it so happens to be my favorite one too! I love the R&b flavor and the crackling static throughout. It’s the perfect track to listen to on those long road trips.
